- How can I get to the Wellington from the airport?
- The Wellington Hotel does not provide transportation from any of the three airports but see below for details and options.
- JFK
- The train from JFK is about $5 per person; take the Air Train towards Jamaica Station. You will have to buy a metrocard. At the Jamaica Station you change to the E train towards Manhattan…get off at the Seventh Avenue stop (at 53rd Street) and walk just two short blocks north towards Central Park to the Wellington Hotel.
In the baggage claim area you can book a shuttle bus to midtown and then take a taxi to the Wellington Hotel. The is also the SuperShuttle, although it will probably make stops at additional hotels. Both of these will be approximately $25-30 per person but SuperShuttle sometimes offers a lower rate for the second or third passenger.
You can take a taxi directly to the hotel. There is a flat fare of $52 plus tip and tolls usually for a maximum of three people.
You can arrange a limousine transfer in advance…see our website – www.wellingtonhotel.com – and click on See New York.
All rates are subject to change until booked and confirmed. - NEWARK
- From Newark Liberty Airport, you can take the train (Air Train) to Penn Station and then a taxi, subway or bus from Penn Station to the Hotel. The train to Penn Station in New York City will be about $12.50 per person and includes the cost of the Air Train. Do not confuse Newark Penn Station with New York's Penn Station. From New York Penn Station to the Wellington Hotel the taxi will be about $12-$15. Taxis often accept a maximum of three people. The subway or bus is $2.25 per person. You can buy a metrocard in Penn Station for use on all subways and buses. You can also use coins on buses; however, you must have the exact fare in coins.
You can book a shuttle bus in the baggage claim area to the Port Authority. SuperShuttle is also available and goes directly to the hotel, although it will probably stop at additional hotels. The will be about $25 per person. SuperShuttle sometimes offers special rates for second and third passengers.
You can take a taxi directly to the hotel. The fare will be the meter charge, plus tip, tolls and the surcharge…about $65-75, usually for a maximum of three people. The surcharge is higher from Newark because taxis from New Jersey cannot pick up a fare here in the city and thus have to go back empty.
